thankful

Today I thought I would take a little break from doing laundry, packing, and entertaining a six-month-old, and write a little post.  My friend Mandy has made numerous lists over the past few months detailing things she is thankful for, and I thought I might follow suit.

I am thankful for my husband who works super hard, leaving me able to stay home with our daughter each day.  I know that sometimes it's hard for him to be away from her all day, like she's growing up without him.   I am thankful for his sacrifice.

I am thankful for this sweet little person napping next to me:

I am thankful to God for providing the resources for us to go to Minnesota tomorrow.  I am thankful that Kevin's family will get to meet our little addition for the first time.

I am thankful for my mom, who let me come over yesterday to wrap all the Christmas presents for her.  I know, it sounds a bit silly, but I love wrapping presents, so I enjoyed doing it while she watched Evelyn.

I am thankful for my dad, who just finished fixing our bathtub and has moved over to begin the demolition in our kitchen.  He's planning on working on our kitchen while we are in Minnesota and he's on his Christmas Break from school.

I am thankful for Jesus.  As I look at my baby, I can't believe that GOD was once her size, and just as helpless.

I am thankful that we live in a place with seasons, and that we got snow during the week of Christmas.

I am thankful for hot tea, and cookies, and warm slippers, and a silly dog who makes my daughter giggle.  I am thankful for a camera to capture memories, and a computer on which to share those memories.  I am thankful for our little house, and for the warmth and protection it provides.

And I am thankful that this little one just woke up.

  1. Oh Kellie, love this post! I love the pics of Evelyn sleeping and then awake. I love that you love wrapping presents. I still remember the packages you made years ago with kraft paper and ribbons. I have tried to emulate them many times. I also love thinking about God made man in the form of a baby.

    Beautiful post, friend!
